Sutton Coldfield based commercial and industrial cleaning specialists Tame Cleaning and Maintenance have celebrated their tenth anniversary with an endorsement from Theo Paphitis, once of BBC TV’s ‘Dragon’s Den’, and one of the country’s leading entrepreneurs.
The company, based at Warwick House, Forge Lane, Sutton Coldfield, was recently selected by Mr Paphitis to join his exclusive #SBS group – Small Business Sunday – on the social media site Twitter, which promotes and supports small to medium sized businesses. And among the perks of being invited to participate is a day out with fellow members at Birmingham’s ICC Centre, hosted personally by Theo himself.
Explained Peter Jones, of Tame Cleaning and Maintenance’s marketing department: “Twitter is a great platform we use to promote our business and our services, and we were delighted to be selected by Theo to join his prestigious group, which he set up as a way of supporting the small business sector.
“You get access to a special #SBS website he set up, which introduces you to other members, offers great advice and generally makes you feel privileged to be a part of, knowing how many people try without success to get selected.
“Every year, usually in February, as this year’s was, Theo hosts an event in Birmingham, and as a newly selected member of the group, we were welcomed on board by Theo, and presented with our certificate, and he took time to find out more about what we did.
“He was genuinely impressed – and as someone who started at the bottom and climbed his way to the top, he appreciates the hard work and dedication that goes into building up a business as we have. Tame started with just three of us, and 10 years later we now employ well over a hundred people, but at the same time, never forgetting we’re a family run business, that treats our staff as family.
“Theo was was really supportive, gave out some great advice, and when you chat to someone who’s achieved in business what he has, it gives you a great buzz to know he’s so interested and helpful.
“But the whole day was fantastic; we met some awesome and inspirational people, and just learnt so much from being around business people whose passion for what they do matches ours.”
To become a member of Theo’s #SBS group, you send a message to him, via Twitter, between 5.30pm and 7pm on a Sunday evening, explaining in 140 characters why he should select you. He looks at all the Tweets, selects five that stand out to him, checks them out, and then on a Monday evening reveals his winners of the week.
